Another recording that shows "Prophet" Jonathan Hansen is lying about his prophecy to America.

The other day a friend a friend sent me a link to Jonathan Hansen's September 2011 newsletter (http://www.worldministries.org/IntNL/What_Next.pdf) which said the following:

"It has come to my attention that
some people have misunderstood the
message of warning from 1998-2008.
They thought I had communicated that
these were rigid dates before the events
spoken about in the prophecy came to pass.
For this misunderstanding I sincerely and
deeply apologize. My intention was that
the events spoken of could, but not
necessarily had to, come to pass between
1998-2008. These were years of
warning."

I can't imagine what he is thinking.  He has to know that with a little bit of effort many of his old interviews can be found on the web.  In case people are tempted to dismiss the recording linked to in my previous post as verbal slip, I found another recording of Jonathan Hansen referring to the 1998 to 2008 time frame as a time for the prophecies fulfillment.  This recording is an interview of Jonathan Hansen by Sid Roth on October 31st 2001.  In it he says, "... the prophecy for 1998 through 2008 was for civil unrest, stock market collapse..." with no mention of those years being a time of warning.

The page on Sid Roth's site containing a link to his 2001 interview of Jonathan Hansen:

A few things to note about this recording:

Again, If you disagree that this is a blatant contradiction, please let me know.  I have nothing personal against Jonathan Hansen; I'm genuinely interested in the truth.

Proof that "Prophet" Jonathan Hansen lied about his own prophecy to America

Back in 1999, I came in contact with a "prophet" who prophesied that all sorts of horrible stuff would happen to America if there wasn't a move of repentance between 1998 and 2008.  At that time I was intrigued by him because, compared with other professing prophets I had encountered, he was specific and willing to give a timeline for his prophecies.  Furthermore, he posted his prophecies on the web and seemed to build his ministry around them.  I couldn't imagine why someone would do that unless they were confident they had heard from God.  For that reason, I kept an open mind through 2008 even though I found much of the content in his messages offensive.

Recently, I was surprised to learn that this man still has a following almost four years after his prophecies for America failed to come true.   Out of curiosity, I searched the web to see what others were saying about him.  In my searching I found that many people were curious about him and had posted questions about his prophecies to various forums.  Unfortunately, almost every response to those questions was disappointing.  Either the responders to their questions didn't treat the question seriously or they gave Biblical arguments related to the role of prophets in the New Testament church.   Anyone considering taking these prophecies seriously won't likely be swayed by any responses I've seen.

For those of you are open to the possibility that Jonathan Hansen is prophet speaking for God, you need to be aware that he has been inconsistent in the way he represents 1998 - 2008 time frame in his prophecy to America.  Today he says that, "The dates 1998-2008 were a time of mercy and grace to give the warning and sound the alarm for people to repent or all will eventually come to pass." (http://www.worldministries.org/america.html)  However, if you go back 5 or more years he said these prophecies were intended to be fulfilled in the period of time between 1998 and 2008.  One clear example of this can be found 37 minutes into his radio interview with Daniel Ott given on 8/19/2006.  A link to the mp3 file of that interview can be found here:

http://web.archive.org/web/20071215104223/http://theedgeam.com/interviews/Jonathan_Hansen_08.19.06_2nd.mp3

I'm reluctant call any man a liar because I know truth can be very nuanced.  However, I think his direct contradiction with regard to the 1998 to 2008 timeframe proves that he is clearly lying.  I don't see how this could be explained away.  Let me know if you disagree.

Additional Info:
  • When researching guys like this who used static content on their websites, its useful to use the "waybackmachine" (http://wayback.archive.org/web/) to look up old versions of their site and see how the site changed over time.

  • If you lookup the world ministries international site (www.worldministries.org and www.world-ministries.org) in the wayback machine you will notice that the 1998 - 2008 timeframe has only recently been framed as a period for delivering the warning.

  • The link above is an archived version of the radio interview found by looking up the edge radio station (http://www.theedgeam.com) in the waybackmachine.  At the time that interview was given the interview was saved to their site as an mp3 file. The only way this file can be accessed is to look at an old version of the site. Current versions of the site have that interview removed.

  • One way to download this on a Mac is to use the this command to save it to your desktop:

    curl http://web.archive.org/web/20071215104223/http://theedgeam.com/interviews/Jonathan_Hansen_08.19.06_2nd.mp3  >>  ~/Desktop/Jonathan_Hansen_08.19.06_2nd.mp3

Doing this will allow you to go directly to the 37 minute mark in the file which may not be an option if listened to through your browser.
