Another recording that shows "Prophet" Jonathan Hansen is lying about his prophecy to America.

The other day a friend a friend sent me a link to Jonathan Hansen's September 2011 newsletter (http://www.worldministries.org/IntNL/What_Next.pdf) which said the following:

"It has come to my attention that
some people have misunderstood the
message of warning from 1998-2008.
They thought I had communicated that
these were rigid dates before the events
spoken about in the prophecy came to pass.
For this misunderstanding I sincerely and
deeply apologize. My intention was that
the events spoken of could, but not
necessarily had to, come to pass between
1998-2008. These were years of
warning."

I can't imagine what he is thinking.  He has to know that with a little bit of effort many of his old interviews can be found on the web.  In case people are tempted to dismiss the recording linked to in my previous post as verbal slip, I found another recording of Jonathan Hansen referring to the 1998 to 2008 time frame as a time for the prophecies fulfillment.  This recording is an interview of Jonathan Hansen by Sid Roth on October 31st 2001.  In it he says, "... the prophecy for 1998 through 2008 was for civil unrest, stock market collapse..." with no mention of those years being a time of warning.

The page on Sid Roth's site containing a link to his 2001 interview of Jonathan Hansen:

A few things to note about this recording:

Again, If you disagree that this is a blatant contradiction, please let me know.  I have nothing personal against Jonathan Hansen; I'm genuinely interested in the truth.

  1. On November 7th, 2000 I stayed up late to watch the election results and fell asleep on my living room floor. That night I had a three dreams in which I saw people jumping from buildings, the collapse of the stock market, a rush to buy gold, John McCain behind a podium with a sign that read ...President on the wall, and finally I saw people rioting in the streets). I told my family and close friends about my dreams, but I didn't know what to make of them. As such, I was curious when I heard Pastor Jonathan Hansen say that he gave a prophetic warnings about these events from 1998 to 2008. Whenever people call themselves prophets I am naturally skeptical. So I searched the Internet to see if anyone had discovered any false prophesies by this person. That brings me to this article, where I see a few allegations, but not much in way of proof. All I see is squabbling about the semantics of a word being used. For now, I'm going to reserve my criticism or judgement about Rev. Jonathan Hansen. All I will say is that he sounds like a man who is teaching righteousness. And in a world where "Christian" churches are filled with false teachers and wicked men, that is quite uncommon.

    1. IC, I completely disagree.

Suppose a prophet puts up a web page today that says "Warning 2013 - 2023" and lists a bunch of prophecies on it. Are you going to think those prophecies are for the period between 2013 and 2023 OR are you going to interpret that to mean, "If we don't repent between now and 2013 and 2023 those prophecies will take place after 2023"? The former. Right?

Now suppose that same prophet in 2020 decides to append a "clarification" to the warning saying it was never intended to be fulfilled between 2013 and 2023.

What is more likely? Did the prophet add that clarification because he realized what he meant by "warning" was being misunderstood OR was he trying to manipulate his original prophecy to hide the fact that he is a false prophet?

This is EXACTLY what Jonathan Hansen did.
      - Look at his website in the way back machine. Notice that the warning clarification never went up until 2006.
      - Listen to the recording again. Notice that he uses the words "between 1998 and 2008" when referring to the time frame. That's not squabbling over semantics, its a direct contradiction.
      - I can find plenty references to his "Warning 1998 - 2008" prophecy all over the web from over the last 15 years. I can't find a single place where his time of "warning" was ever clarified before 2006. I challenge anyone to find one.

If he is truly called by God to give this important warning, don't you think God would make sure it's given in unambiguous terms? Look at Samuel speaking prophetically to Saul. Notice how specific he was. Notice how clear he was. If we are to except that someone is a prophetic messenger for God we need to expect them to give details that only God would know. How about prophesying the exact date of an earthquake?

For being people who love truth, Christians put up with an awful lot of inaccuracy. We should expect better from those who claim to speak for God.

    2. People you must understand that if people pray, that God can change his mind on future events. It could very well been destined to happen during that time period. However faithful intercessors were able to intervene and God changed or delayed the events.

    3. I attended a conference that John Hansen gave at the double tree in Sea-Tac way back before 2000. In the conference John boasted about predicting the presidential election upset in Kenya in the years prior. He then went on to a series of predictions about the Northwest specifically. He said that within 10 years Mt. Rainier would erupt, a nuclear event would take place, a tsunami would sink the floating bridges in Lake Washington. Those were the predictions most imprinted on my mind. None of them had come to pass 20 years later.
John had also attend my church for a few months and there was dissension between him and the pastoral staff that split the church. Some of my friends went with him to Stanwood WA to start some communal compound. I now believe him to be a false prophet based on the failed predictions I heard him speak.
